Work While Drunk

As a coder, and a Windows user, one of the hardest browsers to test with has always been Internet Explorer. Poor debug tools aside, the main issue is that Windows only supports one version if Internet Explorer being installed on the OS at once, since its so heavily tied into Windows (bad Microsoft!). There have been varying degrees of progress to circumventing this, by using standalone versions of IE. Interestingly enough, this functionality was first given as a gift by Microsoft to developers with (IIRC) IE 5.5, which allowed you to keep IE 5.0 as a standalone copy, but Microsoft chose not to continue this practice.

I recently discovered a few extra tricks to furthering these standalone versions, but it was still a pain to manually make all of the required changes. So I contacted the talented Yousif Al Saif over at Tredosoft, who recently produced a standalone installers for Internet Explorer 7 Beta’s/RC’s. Yousif had pretty much achieved the same principle with his IE7 Installer that I was looking for to use with the IE3-6 standalone versions, so I dropped in the suggestion. A mere 2 weeks later and Yousif emails me a preview of the work, and by jove he’d done it. Coders rejoice, you can now handily install all major versions of Internet Explorer on Windows, with little effort and to great effect. Get that here:
